New Study: CBD “Blocks” COVID-type Diseases

Safe and affordable CBD works against COVID19! New study shows Cannabidiol Inhibits SARS-CoV-2 Replication and Promotes the Host Innate Immune Response. No need to be jabbed with any risky mandatory vaccines then?

Published in the National Library of Medicine, the authors of the study report that:

“Our results suggest that CBD can block SARS-CoV-2 infection at early stages of infection, and CBD administration is associated with a lower risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans.”          (Preprint 2021 Mar 10.doi: 10.1101/2021.03.10.432967)

Yesterday, Principia Scientific International posted a review of my anecdotal experience using Cannabidiol (CBD) over a 12-month period as a health supplement. I reported feeling several benefits using a high-quality product from a British company, Hempura CBD UK. (for clarification, I have NOT been paid to endorse this company)

It now turns out that CBD not only can be valuable in treating a range of ailments, it is also shown to be effective in combating that doppelganger of influenza – ‘COVID19.’

The Abstract of the aforementioned study tells us:

“A cohort of human patients previously taking CBD had significantly lower SARSCoV-2 infection incidence of up to an order of magnitude relative to matched pairs or the general population. This study highlights CBD, and its active metabolite, 7-OH-CBD, as potential preventative agents and therapeutic treatments for SARS-CoV-2 at early stages of infection.”

The study states that coronaviruses (including SARS-CoV, 229E, NL63, OC43, HKU1, and MERS-CoV) are claimed to cause a range of symptoms from the common cold to more severe pathologies. It is fair to see there is no clinical difference between the symptoms of ‘COVID’ and influenza or a bad cold.

The study points out that despite recent vaccine availability, coronavirus infections are still spreading rapidly, highlighting the need for alternative treatments, especially for populations with limited access to vaccines.  Being that the reported efficacy of such ‘vaccines’ is being revised downwards to such an extent that numerous follow on booster shots are required, it makes sense to look to less toxic interventions.

The study shows very positive outcomes with CBD, as detailed in the results:

RESULTS

To test the effect of CBD on SARS-CoV-2 replication, we pretreated A549 human lung carcinoma cells expressing exogenous human ACE-2 receptor (A549-ACE2) for 2 hours with 0–10 μM CBD prior to infection with SARS-CoV-2. After 48 hours, we monitored cells for expression of the viral spike protein (S). For comparison, we also treated cells over a similar dose range with an MLK inhibitor (URMC-099) previously implicated as an antiviral for HIV () and KPT-9274, a PAK4/NAMPT inhibitor () that our analysis suggested might reverse many changes in gene expression caused by SARS-CoV-2.

Uhm, marijuana has antiinflammatory, antioxidant, regulatory properties, along with vitamins and minerals. Hundreds, thousands of components. God-given.

And your “vitamin supplements” are produce how, sold by what, comprise of?

Admittedly, I’ll concede that, if you are speaking SPECIFICALLY about the synthetic pharma “CBD” yeah it’s not worth using.

I noticed that the “poster’s” remark has been edited. My point is that the message not the messenger should be debated and slurs avoided. In my mind hemp is another victim of the big pharma cartel’s war on natural healing remedies which they call folklore.

Taking vitamins and supplements is NO different than taking CBD. It’s incredibly good for humans as we have specific receptors for cannabinoids. CBD also doesn’t contain THC, if that’s what you’re worried about. It’s one of THE best medicinal plants on Earth. It ENHANCES your natural immune system, JUST LIKE vitamins and supplements. It IS a supplement.

No, CBD is super cheap. But, assuming you have government, believe in pharmaceutical industry…then yeah, you get tiny amounts of fractions of weed, with what I consider worthless standards, efficiency sold AT you.

I mean I’ve grown like more than a thousand marijuana plants outdoors, throughout the year. Almost no cost associated. A bit of manual effort (and not much, since weed is super tough and one of the easiest plants to grow).

Your “natural” immunity doesn’t exist without nature, get it?

Marijuana happens to have LOADS of beneficial properties, including antoxidants, super awesome terpene/essential oil profiles (check it out), minerals, vitamins…and is natural.

I don’t know what think plants are.

Like why do I have to explain to people that if they eat the raw flowers of marijuana, it’s some of the most potent, efficient medicine on this planet.

And I mean, if you have mental problems, you can smoke or bake the weed too.

Anyway, to reiterate, raw marijuana, and in general plant based foods as medicine should be considered more vs singular components such as CBD (despite it having some benefits) or single vitamin factors. Raw marijuana also won’t get you intoxicated.

The approach of treating health with singular factors generally has low efficacy, with some exceptions (for instance where/when vitamin D deficiency is common). Homogenous, singular “silver bullet” approaches are stupid, imo, since there are waaaay too many interacting factors and varied personal statues.

Obviously you want good mineral and vitamin levels, but along with that terpenes, acids, oils, phenols, flavonoids, anthocyanins, etc. In general, a decent amount and large variety of antioxidants, antiinflammatory and supportive components.

Supplements are generally VERY limited in that sense and can have other associated issues, poor absorption and bioavailability, depending. Supplements are for when there are SPECIFIC deficiencies you need to address and you know of, not as general medicine.

A lot of people also often also use supplements when they really shouldn’t, don’t have to or based on questionable reasoning. In general health, supplements FAR too easily miss a multitude of very useful factors that are simply often not considered or promoted.

A raw apple (that is, assuming it’s not toxified) is typically a far more useful thing than just vitamin C. The same applies to the situation of marijuana and CBD.

Whole foods first and variety of plants. Especially very different sort of plants, to cover a sort of nutritional spectrum.

Here’s a random overview article about the nutritional value of raw marijuana, anyone who says marijuana doesn’t have significant health benefits is out of their minds:
    https://www.crxmag.com/issues/2020/spring/the-nutritional-value-of-raw-cannabis.shtml#

If you go into more detail about the VERY MANY individual beneficial components in marijuana, you’d find enormous amounts of medicinal properties. And there are still many unknown components, but that applies to almost any plants.

Kinda tangential, but the other day I checked a newspaper. So there’s this article about a 90 year old lady named Deirdre Larkin who lives near here (in South Africa). She started running when she was like 78. She apparently has world records in half-marathon and often run faster than people basically a quarter her age. In terms of health, she mentioned “Strict vegetarian diet, no sweets, junk foods, though occasional chocolate”.
