Face masks should be worn to avoid Covid lockdown, warns ‘expert’

Face masks should be worn again in the UK to avoid another Covid lockdown, an expert immunologist has warned.

It comes after Covid-19 cases have spiked by 29 percent in just one week, as figures published by the Office for National Statistics on Friday (July 15) show.

An estimated 3.4 million people in private homes have had the virus in the week up to July 6 and 7 – up from 2.7 the previous week. The jump is likely caused by increases in infections compatible with Omicron variants BA.4 and BA.5, experts said.

It comes as everyone aged over 50 will be offered a Covid booster and flu jab this autumn as health bosses brace themselves for another difficult winter, reports MirrorOnline. Professor Denis Kinane, a world-leading immunologist and founding Scientist of Cignpost Diagnostics, told the Mirror that face masks must return and urged people to exercise social responsibility.

When asked if we need to start wearing face masks again, Prof Kinane said:

“Yes, where appropriate. The virus will continue to evolve and develop structural changes that make it invisible to our immune system, whether we have gained immunity through vaccination or natural previous Covid infections.

We have no indications yet that a step change in disease severity is on the way, but we do know that vaccine immunity begins to wane at three months and in most cases is markedly reduced or non-existent at five months. Even though immunity wanes, it can come back quickly after the person contracts the virus again.

No one wants to return to full lockdowns, so taking reasonable precautions and being socially responsible is vital. This includes using face masks, especially in enclosed and crowded spaces, and where people mix and vocally interact.”

It comes as Professor Tim Spector, lead scientist on the ZOE Health Study, told the Mirror:

“I would advise people to wear high-quality FFP2 and FFP3 masks in crowded or poorly ventilated places to lower their risk of infection.”

The ONS figures released on Friday also show that one in 19 people in England had the virus last week, compared to one in 17 in Wales, one in 17 in Northern Ireland and one in 16 in Scotland. The percentage of positive tests is rising in most age groups, although the trend was more uncertain in Scotland.

The East of England saw the sharpest rise, shows estimates, with cases increasing week-on-week in all regions of the country.

Editor’s note: I was under the impression each successive virus mutation became weaker not stronger. The words of Professor Kinane suggest to me he thinks we should invoke the Precautionary Principle and wear masks & distance for the rest of our lives, just in case something bad happens.

Maybe an expert immunologist but clearly someone who has wandered into a field in which his knowledge is rather limited.

Complete garbage of course. Mask simply do nothing to prevent viral transmission, they’re just “splash guards”.
This is just the first stage of the lockdowns this “expert” purports to try to avoid.

I always head for the most densely populated areas I can and have never had a problem.

That there is an immunologist that needs to be educated. Any fool that thinks a mask can stop a virus is just that, a fool..

Indeed. Obviously employed by the mask manufacturers. masks reduce blood oxygen levels and increase carbon dioxide levels. the pore size of the mask is 0.3 micron, 100 X the size of the virus.
The wearer’s breath coats the inside of the mask forming a one way system, They can get in but then have a nice humid warm environment to grow in (facial incubator).
The bacteria or viral levels can then reach a level that overwhelms the immune system. The vaccine does not prevent the vaccinated from getting Covid or passing it on. Look up VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Effects Reporting System) to see how many deaths and injuries the vaccine causes. A recent UK government report showed over 90% of Covid deaths were amongst the vaccinated.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led people to wear face masks daily in public. Although the effectiveness of face masks against viral transmission has been extensively studied, there have been few reports on potential hygiene issues due to bacteria and fungi attached to the face masks.

Indeed masks should be worn if the immunologists demonstrate the efficacy of the masks by conducting a simple lab experiment (https://bioanalyticx.com/face-masks-and-covid-19-scientific-reality/).

Indeed such a simple experiment has not been done or cannot be done because it requires a specimen of the virus and its testing method – both are NOT available. Immunologists are making claims to remain in the business of false “science” of viruses.

Last week I visited a dermatologist to have some spots on my face frozen off with liquid nitrogen. I was amazed that NO ONE in his office was masked up. Neither the doctor, nurses or office staff had the face diaper on. A bit of sanity has crept into one corner of the medical universe. It was so refreshing to be unmasked in a doctor’s office.

As noted in the other comments, masks do nothing to stop a virus. It is the same as trying to stop a swarm of mosquitoes by using a chain link fence.
Here in Edmonton, Canada, while watching the so-called case count jump exponentially as the mask mandates were put into effect – lower case counts until the mask mandates were put into effect.
I guess I qualify for a religious exception because “I no longer believe in masks, or in our so-called medical experts”.
For the truth, just follow the money.

And of course this “expert” has proof that covid passes through the air from one person to another. Please Mr. “expert” gather us some air and inspect it for covid viruses or ANY viruses. Prove to us menials that viruses exist. Otherwise go visit the devil for I will never comply. Sure you want us to wear silly masks so that you can then bring back distancing, lockdowns and all the other nonsense.

Furthermore, go grab a few used masks and inspect them for the pretend covid particles that they are supposed to stop. Surely you can do that much.

I see that they are still “testing” to see if covid is spreading. And if the “virus” can hide in our cells isn’t it a little small to be blocked by a face mask?
